Hotel El Convento, Old San Juan, Puerto Rico |
Visitors say that Puerto Rico is hard to leave and it seems that the nuns of this former convent feel the same way. It was once a Carmelite convent, set up by the beautiful and tragic Doña Ana de Lansos y Menéndez de Valdez after her husband’s wartime death; she became its Mother Superior and is still seen in the corridors.
Guests also report hearing the swishing of robes.
