VACATION IN MARYLAND: How To Enjoy A Vacation In Maryland

VACATION IN MARYLAND

While you may think of other, more cosmopolitan cities for a vacation, a trip to Charm City may be just the solution for your boring vacation woes. Like all trips, you want to be prepared and avoid things like sickness, car accidents and needing a locksmith, but if the unthinkable happen, you have a great emergency locksmith just a phone call away. Hopefully you can make it through your vacation enjoying the best of what the city has to offer without needing any accident services. If you are headed for the mid-Atlantic region and you want tips on creating a great Charm City vacation, follow some of this advice.
The first thing you will want to do when you arrive in town is plan a night out to dinner where you can enjoy some delicious seafood. The king of seafood in the state is the crab and nobody does crab cakes better than Maryland. There are plenty of places around the city where you can enjoy steamed crabs and crab cakes without spending a fortune. Ask locals about the best places to get crab cakes and you will get plenty of different answers. While variations are slight, Marylanders are very picky when it comes to what they think is the best. If you are headed to town, check a few of the best of lists you can find online and in magazines. Even if you get a few suggestions, it is unlikely any of them will steer you wrong.
One of the best places to enjoy your crab cake dinner is down the Inner Harbor. This area of town came into its own in the 1980's when then-mayor William Donald Schaefer spear-headed the renovation project. Nowadays, the Harbor is filled with shops, restaurants, an indoor market, nightclubs and the Maryland Science Center. Visitors can enjoy shopping and dining at Harbor place and the Gallery, or they can head across the street to Power Plant Live, where parties and club-goers trickle into the courtyard from the many clubs and bars.

Just a short distance away is many of the area's most exciting ethnic neighborhoods. Little Italy, Fell's Point, Canton and Highland Town are just a few of the areas toward the southern and eastern sides of the city. Visitors will love visiting the second-hand and antique stores in Fell's, as locals call it, dining in Little Italy on pasta dishes or enjoying a bayside drink in Canton.
Depending on what time of the year you are in town, you will want to catch a sporting event in the city. Just a short walk from the Inner Harbor is Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium, homes of the Orioles baseball team and the Ravens football team. Both stadiums are modern and charming and complement the spirit of the city very well. Sports fans will love a stroll through the area even if the teams are not in town. If you are lucky enough to catch an O's game, be sure to enjoy a Boog's Barbecue pit beer sandwich or grab a soft pretzel from Uncle Teddy's pretzel stand.
