The state of Montana is one of the most gorgeous locations that anyone could ever visit during their lives. The wide open spaces will be found appealing by almost anyone who is lucky enough to travel there for any length of time. Here is a look at just three of the great things to see and visit while traveling to or though the beautiful state of Montana.
Glacier National Park
One of the most popular vacation destinations in Montana is Glacier National Park which is located in the northwestern portion of the state. The park covers more than one million acres, much of it inaccessible to the casual traveler. The highlight for most travelers coming to Glacier National Park is the drive up Going-to-the-Sun Road, which can be done on their own or on one of the many tour buses that operate regularly on the road. This is the perfect destination for anyone interested in spending time in the great outdoors.
Fort Missoula Museum
The Fort Missoula Museum is located at what is actually one of the first military outposts in Montana. There are a number of very interesting artifacts and exhibits on permanent display at the museum, but it also features a number of great rotating and traveling exhibits too. There is an entire wing of the museum devoted to the historic 25th Infantry Bicycle Corps. One of the most popular parts of the museum is a recreated area where visitors can walk through cabins and other buildings, giving them a true feeling for what life was like in the area years ago.
Fairmont Hot Springs Resort
For those looking to have a great place to headquarter while they go out and experience a number of different areas in Montana but still want to return back to luxury and fun when the day is over, a visit to the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort may be in order. The Fairmont Hot Springs Resort offers a number of fun things to do including golf, swimming in the hot spring fed pools, playing tennis and other court games, relaxing at the Whispering Willows Spa, and more.
It also has the benefit of being located very near to a number of area attractions, especially some of the more popular protected nature and wildlife areas. Whether it is winter or summer, there is plenty of fun to be had at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.
